Teacher Leaders and the Digital Classroom

FutureNow-Partner-image300x250ASCD will join Discovery Education for the second annual Future@Now online forum on February 26, 2014, from 9:00 a.m.–5:30 p.m. (EST) to discuss the transition that educators face when moving from a traditional classroom to a digital one.

Future@Now: Roadmap to the Digital Transition will give livestream attendees the opportunity to hear practical advice and real success stories from influential leaders, including Congressman George Miller, Secretary of Education Arne Duncan, and Broad Prize winner Superintendent Alberto Carvalho of Miami-Dade County Public Schools.

ASCD’s very own Executive Director and CEO Dr. Gene R. Carter will speak during a panel discussion on developing teacher leaders during Future@Now and the ASCD Twitter team will be on-site to live tweet the event. Join us on Twitter (@ASCD) from 1:50–2:40 p.m. (EST) on February 26 to hear about the key roles that teacher leaders play in digital transitions and the key strategies for engaging them in the process. With teachers leading everything from adoption committees to digital peer-mentoring courses, classroom educators have become a critical component of the change movement.

If you are interested in participating in further dialogue on teacher leaders, join the ASCD Forum now through April 11, 2014, where an educator-driven discussion will explore the question, “How do we cultivate and support teacher leaders?” Conversations developed through the ASCD Forum will inform ASCD positioning on teacher leadership and support.
