This episode of ASCD Learn Teach Lead Radio features Lori Oczkus, author of Reciprocal Teaching at Work: Powerful Strategies and Lessons for Improving Reading Comprehension. Reciprocal teaching is an evidence-based strategy based on the four techniques of predicting, questioning, clarifying, and summarizing, which the author refers to as the Fab Four. This metacognitive technique produces significant growth in a very short period of time while encouraging student independence.
