Well, the AP audit is making news again, and in this week’s most-clicked news item ASCD SmartBrief readers are reading about recently published AP audit results.
Under criticism that AP classes were becoming so popular that course content was becoming less rigorous, the College Board enacted the audit to verify that high course standards remained intact. The results show a majority of audited courses passed muster, and many teachers report that the review process was relatively painless. However, some question whether an audit can truly tell if what’s put on paper actually transpires in the classroom.
