Like a Dog in a Swimming Pool

AlejandroWriting students at J. H. House Elementary School in Conyers, Georgia put together a PowerPoint guide for other kids who want to start blogging. In their own words, and scaffolded on the Six Traits of Writing, these students prove to be pretty impressive blogsmiths.

JHH blogger Jhonathan advises,

Load your blog with hot topics! This will get the reader to stay and read like a dog in a swimming pool!

We think students writing their own blogs is a pretty hot topic. So here’s to ya, student bloggers! Check the JHH 2005 blog here, and the 2006 blog here. Both blogs use left-navigation linkouts to student blogs.

Thanks to Anne Davis, of EduBlog Insights, who works with teachers and students to use blogs to teach writing. Her Writing to Learn post hipped us to this cool student blog project.

Tell us about your class or student blogs, and how they’re powering your curriculum here.
