EdBlog Watch: School Board Scuttlebutt

Blogwatch_4For interesting takes on major issues of the day in the education world, check out BoardBuzz, the blog of the National School Boards Association (NSBA). A recent post on zero tolerance policies, for example, noted a new resolution from the American Psychological Association stating that such policies are “backfiring”; linked to a related article in USA Today, noting that kids feel less safe in schools with high suspension rates; and quoted NSBA staff attorney Tom Hutton, who urged school boards to give administrators more discretion.

In addition to such well-rounded treatments of critical issues, BoardBuzz features a weekly school law roundup, “Legal Clips,” which recently covered a court decision on prayer at school football games.
