We’re excited to announce new features available to the free EduCoreTM Common Core implementation tool! For the new year, the updated EduCore website features simpler navigation and expanded resources.
The updated site features videos, articles, and example lessons to help educators and instructional leaders keep up with the most recent trends and instructional shifts in CCSS implementation. One key feature is that the resources can be used independently or as part of a group with principals, team leaders, and content area coaches leading the discussion. The online tool will also share opinion articles on each side of the CCSS debate and others chronicling of the standards’ history and adoption.
Another exciting development is the addition of the ASCD Virtual Learning Network (VLN), set up to provide you with ongoing virtual professional development training. Through a series of webinars—led by ASCD faculty experts in mathematics, English language arts, science, and social studies standards—teachers will explore how to implement the standards in their classrooms. Each webinar is structured around a problem of practice, and will connect you with resources that can be used in the classroom. As an added bonus, all webinars will be archived online so that you can participate at your convenience.
Please check back for additional content area materials that are on the way; the EduCore tool will be expanding its resource bank in the coming months! We’re excited to introduce new math, science, and assessment resources. Since its inception, the EduCore digital tool has attracted more than 130,000 users and continues to grow, thanks to your wonderful support.
By registering for the online resource, educators can access additional features, such as the ability to download modules, track viewed resources, take notes, and leave feedback using the improved comments feature aligned with ASCD EDge®.
Also, don’t forget about our upcoming schedule of Common Core State Standards Institutes that will further much of the knowledge shared through the EduCore tool. ASCD offers one-day institutes covering the Common Core curriculum in both mathematics and English language arts, as well as institutes to help teachers using formative assessment. Two-day institutes are offered in leadership and the Understanding by Design® framework. Registration is open for upcoming institutes, with discount incentives offered to groups of four or more attendees.
