What Does Membership Mean to You? To ASCD, Membership Means More - thumbnail
How many organizations are you a member of? Surely, if you did a comprehensive listing, there would be a few. Everything from your gym to your frequent buyer club to the neighborhood pool over the summer—it’s easy to find yet another place to become a member.
But are you a member of ASCD? Here at ASCD we just announced a yearlong rollout of new member perks and benefits during the association’s “membership means more” campaign, which means we’re not “just another organization” to join—your membership with us goes above and beyond what you might expect. In fact, I’m thrilled to share a brand new member benefit with you today!
The first benefit announced during the “membership means more” campaign is insurance at competitive group rates. ASCD will be offering its membership 15 different individual insurance products, including the membership benefit of
Professional Liability: $1 million coverage in Educators Professional Liability Insurance Plan
Life: Group Term Life, Group Accidental Death & Dismemberment, and Group Disability Income Protection Insurance from New York Life Insurance Company
Home & Auto: GEICO Auto, Motorcycle, and Boat Insurance and Homeowners, Condo/Co-op, and Renters Insurance
In addition, ASCD Premium members will now receive ASCD In-Dues Professional Liability Plan Coverage as a benefit that is paid for by ASCD. This is available for W-2 employees whose job at a school, college, or university is their main occupation. During the month of September, Premium members will receive a communication with full details, including an insurance certificate.
These new programs are made available through the Trust for Insuring Educators, which has been protecting educators and their families since 1973. Learn more about insurance programs by visiting www.ftj.com/ASCD or by calling 1-800-821-7303.
So, if you already enjoy ASCD’s resources but you have yet to commit to becoming a member, now is the time. Our member benefits are better than ever before! ASCD membership offers more information and ideas about learning and teaching than any other single source. Multiple membership levels offer an increasing number of valuable benefits and resources, including online tools. To join, contact the Service Center at 1-800-933-2723, then press 1 or go online: www.ascd.org/apply.
